Senior Alison Haigh (Northborogh, Mass.), the America East Player of the Game, scored a career-high five goals to lead the Vermont Catamounts past the Le Moyne Dolphins, 13-9, in non-conference women’s lacrosse action at Moulton Winder Field on Wednesday afternoon. Vermont improves to 4-8 overall, while the Dolphins drop their second straight contest and fall to 7-5 on the year.
Kayla Best scored five goals and added an assist to lead the Albany Great Danes to an 18-5 victory over Vermont in the America East opener for both teams at Moulton Winder Field on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Megan MacDonald led the Catamounts with a goal and an assist. America East Players of the Game: Kayla Best (Albany), Megan MacDonald (Vermont). UVM’s Samantha Stern scored one goal in the game and has scored 10 goals in the last five contests.
Catamounts TV spoke with Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Jen Johnson about the upcoming 2010 season. The Catamounts open their season this Friday on the road at Penn State. The Nittany Lions are ranked 14th in the country after opening the season 2-1.
